Director DevOps

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Demonstrate AWS Certification and/or relevant experience in AWS Application hosting services (EC2, S3, RDS etc).
• Proficient in AWS Toolkit, CodeBuild/Deploy and CloudFormation for efficient infrastructure management.
• Implement and optimize Source Control Management using Gitlab based tools with a focus on branching and Merging strategies.
• Utilize test automation tools like Xunit, Selenium, LoadRunner to ensure the reliability and performance of applications
• Apply DevSecOps principles and possess knowledge of eCommerce security best practices
• Showcase strong expertise in configuring high-availability, load-balancing and failover configurations across application, infrastructure, and platform components in AWS
• Automate, build, test and deployment activities for PHP, MySQL applications to accelerate the software delivery pipeline
• Implement cloud infrastructure management and data logging best practices
• Establish 24x7x365 monitoring and alerting systems, with preference given to experience with New Relic
• Serve as a primary escalation point for any performance our outage related events
• Understand manage database schema changes and how to propagate those from LOCAL to STAGE to PROD
• Solid and demonstrated experience building systems utilizing container services in Kubernetes
• Creates and maintains a variety of production and test environments to support development and testing activities
• Diagnoses complex system issues with multiple influencing factors
• Excels in a rapid iteration environment with short turnaround times
• Constructively present, discuss and debate alternatives to drive informed decision making
• Takes shared ownership of products, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery

• Strong DevOps and Leadership skills with 8+ years of experience
• Strong experience with Linux-based infrastructures, Linux/Unix administration
• Strong experience in CI/CD pipeline tools and workflows
• Strong programming skills (ability to script and automate job functions via BASH, PHP, Python, Perl etc.
• Experience with monitoring and log management systems
• Understanding of network concepts including firewalls, routing, VPN and TCP/IP fundamentals.
• Practical experience and knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture, Microservices and API Management
• Strong Communications skills (written and verbal)
• Strong drive and initiative with a self-starter mentality
