Location: Bronx, NY – Jerome Avenue (Training in Brooklyn, NY – Pitkin Facility)
Type: Permanent Direct Hire with Full Benefits
Pay Rate: Based on skills and experience
Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Position Summary:
We are seeking an Acceptance Test Supervisor to oversee acceptance testing operations at our Jerome Avenue rail facility in the Bronx. Initial training will take place at the Pitkin location in Brooklyn. This is a full-time, direct hire role for a hands-on leader with strong quality, production, or engineering experience in a manufacturing or transit environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise Acceptance Testing activities at the Jerome facility and remote test sites
Align team strategy with overall company management goals
Lead, train, and manage technical staff, ensuring top performance
Approve employee schedules, timecards, and manage labor within budget
Maintain strict safety and cleanliness standards within the test area
Coordinate testing schedules and progress with Production, Engineering, Quality, and the Customer
Oversee test documentation and reporting; submit records for Car History Books
Ensure test equipment calibration and manage equipment inventory
Address non-conforming product issues and supplier communication
Enforce compliance with customer safety policies and QA procedures
Identify training needs and recommend professional development plans
Motivate team members and take disciplinary action when necessary
Provide consistent feedback and maintain a high-performance environment
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in warranty, quality, production, or engineering within manufacturing
Associate degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills
Proficiency in MS Office and technical reporting
Able to work safely in an active rail car environment (indoor/outdoor)
Knowledge of customer QA and safety compliance requirements
Ability to climb stairs/ladders and lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs
Work Environment:
This position operates in a working rail car maintenance and testing facility. Work is conducted both indoors and outdoors. Safety, accuracy, and adherence to timelines are essential.
