Electrical/Electronic Design Engineer

- Part-Time, Contract | Remote – Eastern Time Zone
- Contract Duration: 4–6 months
 - Location: Remote (must be based in the Eastern Time Zone)
-  Schedule: 20 hours per week | Work hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM ET (flexible within this window)

 Compensation:

  • $30/hour for candidates with 2–4 years of experience
  • Candidates with over 4 years of experience will be considered for a higher rate based on qualifications

We are actively partnering with a long-standing client to support their need for a part-time Electrical/Electronic Design Engineer on a 4–6 month contract basis. This is a remote position, and candidates must be located within the Eastern Time Zone. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented engineer with experience in electronic security systems, who is skilled in Revit and AutoCAD, and thrives in collaborative, cross-functional environments. The selected candidate will play a vital role in supporting complex projects by developing and reviewing schematic designs, while coordinating closely with both internal and external project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine schematic designs for electronic and electrical systems
  • Review and provide quality control feedback on 2D and 3D CAD drawings
  • Collaborate with project managers, senior engineers, customers, manufacturers, and engineering consultants
  • Leverage expertise in Electronic Security Systems to inform accurate and compliant system design
  • Use Revit and AutoCAD to create and revise technical drawings
  • Draft and respond to formal notices; analyze contractual changes and assess their scheduling impacts
  • Contribute to documentation and ensure smooth coordination across all phases of the project
Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in electrical/electronic or security system engineering
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
  • Solid understanding of Electronic Security Systems
  • Working knowledge of network and system security principles
  • Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to pivot quickly and manage shifting priorities effectively
  • Must reside in the Eastern Time Zone and be available during standard business hours
Preferred (Not Required)

  • Familiarity with AC/DC circuitry, voltage drop calculations, and wire sizing
