Job Title: Inventory Control Specialist
Location: Wallingford, CT
Type: Contract to Hire – 6 months temp to permanent
Pay & Shifts:
1st Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM): $23/hr (depending on experience)

Position Summary:
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for tracking and managing inventory to support smooth production and shipping operations. This includes inspecting incoming stock, maintaining accurate inventory records in SAP, and ensuring timely movement of materials and shipments.
Responsibilities:
Maintain efficient inventory operations in the stockroom, warehouse, and shipping/receiving
Inspect incoming stock for accuracy and damage; escalate issues to quality or planning
Verify counts, enter receipts into SAP, and place stock in designated locations
Conduct periodic cycle counts and adjust records as needed
Process orders for manufacturing, customer shipments, scrap, and engineering use
Receive shipments and route them to the correct internal departments
Process all shipments in SAP, including creating and updating tracking and advanced ship notices
Complete required international shipping paperwork
Generate delivery and pick paperwork for customer and inter-company orders
Communicate effectively with production, engineering, and sales
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not include supervision of others.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience in warehouse, inventory, or stockroom environment preferred
Familiarity with SAP or other inventory management systems a plus
Basic computer skills and attention to detail
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams
