Job Title: 3-Axis CNC Machinist – Night Shift

Location: Branford, CT – Onsite
Pay Rate: $ depending on experience
New hires will train on first shift, then transition to third shift with a 10% shift differential.
Hours: Monday – Friday, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Overtime paid at 1.5x for hours worked over 40/week)
SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our Machine Shop team in Branford, CT.
This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining 3-Axis CNC milling machines to produce precision parts according to technical drawings, engineering specifications, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience machining various materials, interpreting blueprints, and working independently to meet production goals while ensuring quality and safety compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set up, operate, and troubleshoot 3-Axis CNC milling machines.
Machine precision parts from materials such as SS304, 316L, aluminum, and a variety of plastics.
Read and interpret prints (ISO – First Angle Projection, metric system).
Perform setups and run parts to production requirements.
Review Production Status Reports and complete orders as scheduled.
Record job activity in ERP system (scanning bar code).
Follow shop’s pre-inspection checklist before each job.
Inspect completed work using precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, gauges, and fixtures.
Perform light preventative maintenance on CNC machines to maintain performance and reduce downtime.
Comply with all safety rules, wear proper PPE, and follow company policies.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with internal, customer, and regulatory standards.
Promote customer focus and uphold quality standards.
COMPETENCIES:
Ability to edit programs and controls (quick learner).
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Highly dependable with an excellent attendance record.
QUALIFICATIONS:
3–5 years of proven CNC machining experience, specifically on milling machines.
Experience with cutting tools, speeds, and feeds, plus program editing.
Familiarity with the metric system and ability to read technical prints.
Experience with turning lathes is a plus.
