Job Title: Quality Control Inspector
Location: College Park, MD
Shift: 1st Shift
Duration: Contract Temp-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $23 – $33/hr (depending on experience)

Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Quality Control Inspector for a rail car manufacturing facility located in College Park, MD. This is a hands-on role performing visual and dimensional inspections on rail car parts and assemblies to ensure compliance with strict quality standards.
Responsibilities:
• Inspect rail car parts and sub-assemblies for conformance to quality standards
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections using tape measures, calipers, micrometers, scales, and other tools
• Follow engineering drawings, written procedures, and verbal instructions
• Record inspection results in reports with a high degree of accuracy and detail
• Work with both English and Metric measurement systems
• Interpret engineering drawings and perform inspections across all phases of assembly including:
– Part Fabrication
– Receiving
– Metal Matching
– Sub Assembly
– Shell Assembly
– Truck Assembly & Test
– Interior and Cab
– Exterior
– Under-floor

Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2 years of QC inspection experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Ability to independently perform final inspection on an entire rail car
• Proficiency with inspection tools including tape measures, calipers, and micrometers
• Comfortable working in an active shop environment
• Physically capable of lifting up to 40 lbs and climbing stairs and ladders
Work Environment:
This role is based in a rail car production facility with both indoor and outdoor work areas. Strict safety protocols and quality standards are enforced.
