Summary
The Quality Engineer ensures the correct use of advanced quality planning and engineering to enhance quality, reliability, and acceptance of systems, processes, and products. This position provides a professional level of quality customer service to both internal and external customers and suppliers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Monitor the performance of product quality and reliability systems
Generate and maintain accurate documentation relating to quality, reliability, and process
Implement prevention/detection systems to eliminate problems that affect quality and reliability
Prepare and present PPM (parts per million) reports, cost of quality reports, leadership scorecards, and other metrics
Develop and implement quality programs including tracking, analyzing, reporting, and problem solving
File and maintain all quality documentation (customer complaints, control plans, quality alerts, weekly logs, etc.)
Participate in pre-production activities as the quality representative
Complete supplier quality system audits, issue non-conformance reports, and follow up on corrective actions
Coordinate the Management Review process and assist in supplier evaluations
Provide direct support to the Quality Assurance Manager
Qualifications, Education, and Experience
BS in Engineering or other technical discipline required
Minimum 5 years of quality department experience in a manufacturing environment
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred
Automotive industry experience preferred
Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 documentation systems and methods
This position is located at an ITAR regulated facility. Candidates must be U.S. Citizens or U.S. Permanent Residents (Green Card holders) to comply with government regulations
