We are currently seeking a Rail Car Technician in College Park, MD
Responsibilities:
Mechanical:
• Perform metal finishing efficiently and accurately.
• Set up all work on a rail car from drawings, procedures, and verbal instructions.
• Create production aids such as templates and hand jigs to assist with work.
• Perform acceptable repairs on various materials.
• Build jigs, fixtures, and other production time-saving devices.
• Use hand and power tools (electrical and pneumatic) efficiently.
Electrical:
• Assemble wire harnesses and terminate wire ends.
• Route cable or wire in complex areas such as cabs, electric lockers, or train line boxes based on drawings.
• Read and troubleshoot electrical schematics for misfires.
• Perform soldering to make wire connections.
Skills:
• Mechanical aptitude and electrical wiring experience.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors as needed.
• Strong understanding of blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and performing repairs.
Essential Qualifications:
• Technical experience in US Military, Avionics, or Automotive industries is highly comparable.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain high attention to detail.
• Strong work ethic and flexibility with work schedules.
