Summary

Works under the direction of the National Sales Manager to identify and execute sales leads in an assigned territory (Dallas, TX).

Essential Functions

• Strategically locate, qualify, and target manufacturers/fabricators in the region, to introduce, promote, and offer company products.
• Collaborates with National Sales Manager to develop and execute plan for territory growth.
• Understand customers’ existing manufacturing processes, workflow, production requirements, and challenges and present value propositions and solutions based on company technology.
• Use technical skills to discuss intelligently with potential customers and present the advantages of company systems and how technology may benefit them better than competing products.
• Learn product specifications, features, and applications in-depth, and continuously stay informed about new product developments, as well as industry trends through attendance of tradeshows, publications, seminars, product training sessions and personal networking in the industry.
• Collaborate with applications engineers and product managers to identify the best machine, software, and/or process solutions for complex manufacturing problems and propose them to customers with well-prepared presentations.
• Update and maintain customer visit notes, opportunity details, and regional activities in CRM system (C4C) on a weekly basis.
• Perform basic relationship building with customers and potential customers.
• Must possess a firm understanding of all necessary equipment and company processes and be able to work well with internal departments to execute strategies.
• Visits and document in CRM(C4C) in person visits to customer locations (at least 6 to 8 confirmed per week) to perform sales calls and assess customer needs. Be available to travel to customer location a minimum of 3 nights per week.
• Download all the latest product quotations from internal network drive(s) to ensure use of the latest quotation format.
• Uses internal network drive to retrieve data required by customers.
• Completes all documentation to arrange and schedule time cycle studies, demonstration cutting trials, and customer demonstrations in Novi or Italy as required.
• Engages management, technical, and other necessary support to ensure customer satisfaction and equipment sales.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

• Company or personal vehicle.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

The incumbent works primarily in the field visiting existing customers and new prospects.  May occasional visit manufacturing facilities where the noise level may be moderate to loud.

The position requires approximately 50-60% travel.  Travel may be local or out of State as required.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical field and/or Business Administration, or a combination of 5+ years of sales experience and/or job-related technical experience in the machine tool industry.

Licensing/Certifications

• Valid Driver’s License
• No more than two (2) points on a driving record within a three (3) year period

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Excellent interpersonal skills. Must possess the ability to explain subjects in a positive manner. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project)
• Proficient with common business practices relating to the purchase, pricing, terms, shipment, taxes, and payment for products and services.
• Ability to prioritize and schedule travel activities as well as make efficient use of time and resources.
• Highly organized.
• Must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Able to effectively work with all levels of team members and all types of customer personalities.
• Fluent in Italian (preferred).
