Job Title: Sr. Metrology Quality Technician
Location: Beverly, MA
Shift: 1st Shift (Full-Time, On-Site)
Pay Range: $35–$42 per hour
About the Role:
We are seeking a Sr. Metrology Quality Technician for a leading manufacturer in Beverly, MA. In this critical role, you’ll take ownership of CMM programming, First Article Inspections (FAIs), and high-precision inspections across complex mechanical components. You'll collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to ensure product conformance from the start of development through production.
Your advanced knowledge of metrology and GD&T will support New Product Development, process improvement initiatives, and mentorship of junior staff—all within a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
Precision Inspection & CMM Programming
• Create, troubleshoot, and validate CMM programs using part drawings and 3D models
• Perform detailed dimensional inspections using CMM, vision systems, and precision hand tools
• Execute and document First Article Inspections (FAIs) to meet industry and customer standards
Quality Support & Engineering Collaboration
• Apply advanced GD&T principles to verify product conformity
• Participate in drawing reviews and measurement capability studies during New Product Development
• Partner with Quality Engineering to validate set-ups and CMM program accuracy
Training, Projects & Process Improvement
• Mentor and train other inspectors and technicians on inspection best practices
• Lead or support special projects related to fixtures, tooling, and gauges
• Identify and implement Lean Manufacturing initiatives and process improvements
• Provide quality inspection support across departments and functional areas
Requirements:
• Advanced knowledge of GD&T and metrology
• Proficient in CMM programming, validation, and troubleshooting
• Strong mechanical inspection background in a manufacturing environment
• Hands-on experience with gauges, micrometers, calipers, and vision systems
• Knowledge of ERP systems and documentation standards
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail
• Prior experience training or mentoring staff is a plus
• Proven ability to resolve quality-related issues effectively
