The Operations Manager is an essential position to our company. While our office located in Midtown, NYC, This position will largely be working out of our new central warehouse
in Bridgeport, CT- but will play a very large part in assisting with a smooth transition for the next couple of months from our current location in Elizabeth, NJ. Once settled, general day to day activities will be conducted in Bridgeport, CT. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills as it relates to being the liaison with customers, vendors and warehouse crew.
- Preparing weekly crew schedules to coincide with scheduled deliveries
- Oversight on managing large inventory & staff
- Supervise a team of warehouse staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Develop and implement warehouse policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Utilize warehouse management systems to track inventory levels, monitor stock movement, and optimize warehouse layout.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and implement process improvement initiatives.
- Assisting corporate with biweekly payroll
- Overseeing daily jobs
- Ensuring deliveries and pick up's are timely
- Ensuring all important deliveries and pick up's are executed perfectly.
- Follow up with client satisfaction
- Assist with any last-minute changes or client requests
- Occasional on-site project review
- Fleet oversight and coordination
- Oversee inventory condition, replacement, and repair
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
- Liaison with Warehouse Managers & HR
- Interviewing new warehouse candidates
- Hiring and training new warehouse employees
- Ensure timely submission of warehouse employee reviews
- Oversee HR administrator
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Must be extremely detail oriented, organized, flexible, responsible, energetic, assertive and good with people. An idea person with fresh perspectives on how to grow the business would be ideal
- Proven experience in Warehouse Management or Business Management experience: 3+ years required.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, supply chain management, and logistics.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify areas for improvement, and implement process enhancements.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead a team of warehouse staff.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated and outgoing with entrepreneurial spirit
- Organized and have great communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Works well both independently and in a team
- Flexible schedule, if needed, for work events
- Able to multi task in a fast-paced environment.
- History of events/furniture warehousing a plus.
