Job Title: Warranty Supervisor
Location: Coney Island, NY – Rail Maintenance Facility
Type: Permanent Direct Hire with Full Benefits
Pay Rate: $71,735 – $82,000 annually (based on experience)
Shifts Available:
1st shift Monday -Friday 7am -4pm
2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM
3rd Shift: Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Position Summary:
We are seeking Warranty Supervisors for 2nd and 3rd shifts at our Coney Island Rail Car Maintenance Facility. This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity focused on supervising warranty-related activities, team leadership, and coordinating rail car work aligned with customer requirements. The ideal candidate has mechanical experience and the ability to manage in a fast-paced, safety-first environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop strategies aligned with KRC’s management policy
Supervise and support daily operational activities for assigned shift
Hire, train, and develop technical and clerical personnel
Approve employee schedules and timesheets
Manage work assignments and ensure quality and schedule compliance
Monitor and control site labor hours to meet budget targets
Maintain a safe and orderly work environment, enforcing company and customer safety policies
Coordinate daily rail car work with customer expectations
Prepare and track daily activity schedules
Audit and submit vouchers for supervised personnel
Oversee warranty compliance and ensure required documentation is submitted
Manage vendor relations and modification implementation
Report directly to upper management with minimal supervision
Qualifications:
1+ year of supervisory experience in warranty, production, quality, or engineering
OR
3+ years of technical/mechanical experience with some supervisory responsibility
Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with English and Metric systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Computer proficient and experienced in generating reports
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle pressure and shifting priorities professionally
Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking)
Comfortable working around rail cars in active yard conditions
Able to climb stairs/ladders and lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs
Work Environment:
This role takes place in a working rail car maintenance facility with a mix of indoor and outdoor conditions. Strict safety protocols and high-quality standards are enforced to ensure a safe and productive operation.
