AOI Operator I / II (2nd Shift)

Pay Rate: $22.00-$24.00/hour (DOE)
Shift: 2nd Shift | Monday-Friday | 3:00 PM-11:30 PM
Position Overview
We are seeking two experienced AOI Operators (Level I & II) to join a leading electronics manufacturing company in Seymour, CT. Due to continued growth and an immediate production need, we are looking for reliable candidates with experience in electronics manufacturing and quality inspection.
In this role, you will operate Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) and X-Ray inspection equipment to inspect printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), identify defects, and ensure products meet customer, IPC, and company quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Operate Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment to inspect printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs)
- Utilize X-Ray inspection equipment to verify product quality
- Load, recall, and run AOI inspection programs based on work orders
- Identify true defects versus false calls and accurately log inspection results
- Read and follow work instructions, job travelers, and manufacturing documentation
- Utilize Aegis/MIS software to record inspection activity
- Identify electronic components and common PCB assembly defects
- Communicate recurring quality concerns with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams
- Maintain IPC-A-610 quality standards throughout production
- Maintain ESD-safe work practices and a clean, organized work area
- Follow OSHA, SDS, and company safety procedures
- Support production schedules while maintaining exceptional quality standards
Additional Responsibilities (AOI Operator II)
- 1-5 years of AOI inspection experience
- Assist with creating and modifying simple AOI programs
- Train and mentor new AOI Operators
- Help troubleshoot inspection equipment and production issues
- Provide support to supervisors on quality-related issues
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 0-3 years of electronics manufacturing experience (Level I)
- 1-5 years of AOI inspection experience preferred (Level II)
- Experience operating AOI equipment in an electronics manufacturing environment
- Experience with PCB assembly or electronics inspection
- Strong computer skills and attention to detail
- Ability to identify electronic components and PCB defects
- IPC-A-610 Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Component identification experience preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Reliable transportation with excellent attendance for 2nd Shift

Physical Requirements
- Stand, walk, and move throughout the shift
- Frequently use hands to handle electronic components
- Lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Ability to distinguish colors and identify small electronic components
- Ability to work around moving manufacturing equipment
