Job Title: Mechanical & Hydraulic Machine Assembler/Mechanic
DETAILS: 4 month Temp to Hire
Location: Shelton, CT
Salary: $ depending on experience
Shift: 1st

SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE:
We are actively seeking a mechanically-inclined and detail-oriented OEM Machine Assembler/Production Mechanic to assemble, calibrate, and test large machinery in accordance with engineering specifications and customer requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Large Precision Machine Assembly
    1. Follow work instructions and engineering drawings, manuals & technical specifications to reliably, accurately and efficiently assemble precision machinery.
    2. Skillfully use a range of hand & power tools to perform assembly operations. Align and fit parts to ensure proper functionality and performance of the machinery.
    3. Parts and components include but are not limited to hydraulic parts (manifolds, valves, cylinders, pumps, heat exchangers, piping, hoses), mechanical parts (housings, shafts, bearings, retainers, linkages, couplings), and electrical components (sensors, limit switches, drives, electric motors, control panels).
    4. (After appropriate training and authorization) operate lifts, hoists, forklift as required.
  2. Test and calibrate finished subassemblies (mechanical, hydraulic and/or electrical systems)
    1. Perform quality checks & inspections throughout the assembly process to ensure adherence to standards and specifications.
    2. Collaborate with engineers and other team members to optimize assembly processes, identify problems, and improve product quality.
    3. Troubleshoot and help to resolve mechanical issues that may arise during assembly or testing.
  3. Customer Order Compliance & Accuracy
    1. Ensure orders are filled, packaged & labeled in accordance with customer requirements.
    2. Crate and package components and systems for delivery, ensuring they are appropriately protected during transit (often sea freight/export).
  4. Organization & Safety
    1. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of tools and equipment.
    2. Comply with safety protocols & regulations to always ensure a safe working environment.
    3. All other duties reasonably assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. 3-5 years minimum applicable work experience.
  2. Required- mechanically inclined, hands-on, proficient with hand and power mechanics tools.
  3. Prior mechanical machine assembly, or service & repair experience.
  4. Working knowledge of hydraulic components and systems beneficial.
  5. Working knowledge of electrical components & systems beneficial.
  6. Pride in work and quality consciousness.
  7. Self-starter, self-motivated, and productivity oriented.
  8. Fast and accurate, timely and reliable work.
  9. Ability to effectively communicate and interact with coworkers; willingness to seek guidance or ask for clarifications.
  10. Neat, organized and safety conscious.
  11. Ability to work under time constraints and strive to meet product shipping deadlines.
