FAA CNC Machinist – VTL (1st Shift)
Type: Temp-to-Perm (600+ hours)
Pay: $25–$35/hr depending on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
First Day Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Set up and operate VTL (Vertical Turret Lathe) machines for pre-machining and finish machining of rotating aircraft engine parts
• Machine plasma coatings, K/E seals, and other precision aerospace surfaces
• Work from process travelers, blueprints, drawings, operations sheets, specs, and verbal instructions
• Determine correct tolerances, machining sequences, tooling, and setup parameters
• Verify dimensions using micrometers, depth gauges, height gauges, verniers, and related precision tools
• Collaborate with engineering on material conditions, part positioning, tool pressure, and process adjustments
• Follow FAA and company guidelines for safety, traceability, and documentation
Qualifications
• 2–5 years of machining experience in an aerospace environment
• Experience machining plasma coatings and K/E seals on rotating aircraft parts
• Strong math skills and working knowledge of GD&T
• Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC)
• Willingness to learn basic CNC programming
• Good communication skills and ability to follow written instructions
• Positive attitude and openness to learning new skills/trades (company is open to strong learners)
Education
• High school diploma or equivalent required
