Job Title: Cable Assembler
Location: Wallingford, CT
Salary: $18–$20/hr
Duration: 3-Month Contract-to-Hire
Benefits: Optional cafeteria-style benefits for contractors
Shifts:
  • OIS Assemblers & Test Technicians: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM or 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (2-2-3 rotation)
  • RF&I Assemblers: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday–Friday
Current Openings:
  • 1 OIS Assembler (Rotating 12-hour schedule)
  • 1 RF&I Assembler (Monday–Friday)
Position Summary
The Cable Assembler (Entry Level) performs hands-on assembly of components following written and verbal work instructions. This role supports production by assembling, inspecting, packaging, and preparing components for shipment while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform manual and semi-routine assembly tasks
  • Read and interpret written and verbal assembly instructions
  • Use hand tools and/or packaging equipment to prepare sub-assemblies for shipment
  • Complete production records accurately
  • Meet baseline assembly and productivity standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Follow all safety, chemical handling, and workstation requirements
  • Use basic hand tools (cutters, crimpers, rulers, strippers, etc.)
  • Support changing priorities and occasional overtime

  • Strong communication and teamwork
  • Understanding of KPIs and production expectations
  • Dependable attendance per Radiall policy
  • Flexibility and willingness to assist other areas as needed
Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Entry-level accepted
  • 1+ year of small-part assembly experience preferred (electrical/wiring ideal)
Language Skills
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
Technical Skills
  • Assemble components per Tech Routing and M.O. traveler instructions
  • Set up workstation and activity settings correctly
  • Strong attention to detail and basic math skills
  • Experience with cable assembly, mechanical assembly, or similar
  • Basic understanding of assembly standards and quality expectations
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement concepts
  • Knowledge of EHS policies, PPE requirements, and emergency procedures
  • Ability to use measurement tools (standard & metric)
  • Manual dexterity and ability to stand for extended periods
Compliance Requirements
  • Must be ITAR compliant (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident)
