Summary
We are seeking an experienced Class A Toolmaker to support a busy manufacturing operation with strong experience in progressive tooling and precision toolmaking. This role requires a highly skilled individual capable of working independently, troubleshooting tooling issues, and supporting production with minimal supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics
- Build, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain tooling and dies
- Operate Proto-Track equipment and other toolroom machinery
- Support progressive tooling used in manufacturing operations
- Diagnose tooling issues and make necessary adjustments and repairs
- Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime
- Work independently in a fast paced manufacturing environment
- Ensure tooling meets quality and production standards
- Support continuous improvement and production efficiency efforts
Qualifications, Education, and Experience
- Class A Toolmaker experience required
- Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Hands-on experience operating Proto-Track equipment
- Strong background with progressive tooling
- Advanced machining and troubleshooting skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a high volume manufacturing environment
- Milling, grinding, and machining experience
- Knowledge of tooling maintenance and repair best practices
Work Environment
- Manufacturing and toolroom environment
- Exposure to machinery, tooling, and production equipment
- Must follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand throughout the shift
- Ability to lift tooling and work safely with machinery and equipment
- Required use of PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes
