Job Title: Electrical Test Technician

Duration: 6 months Temporary-to-Permanent opportunity
Position Summary and Special Duties:
As an EMC Test Technician, you will work closely with senior EMC and design engineers in a dynamic Medical Device Research and Development environment. This position plays a key role in ensuring that IEC 61000-4-xx EMC requirements are met. EMC lab supports multiple active projects, from early prototype stages through formal verification testing, conducted both in-house and at local test facilities.
Your day-to-day duties will include, but may not be limited to:
Conduct in-house electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing including ESD, EFT, Surge, Magnetic Fields, Voltage Dips, and Radiated/Conducted Emissions.
Execute test cases to verify device electromagnetic compatibility and accurately record findings.
Gain in-depth knowledge of medical device functionality and clinical use to assess compliance with regulatory standards.
Use troubleshooting tools to identify problematic electrical or mechanical areas causing excessive emissions or weak immunity.
Contribute to design failure investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Participate in test planning to define test strategies and identify key test criteria at each project stage.
Collaborate with EMC engineers to develop and refine work instructions and ensure accurate assessments.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe lab environment while ensuring compliance with safety and health procedures.
Perform maintenance and verification of test equipment to ensure accuracy and performance.
Support testing at contract laboratories by setting up equipment, monitoring device functionality, and coordinating test data.
Job Specifications:
Minimum 2 years of experience as an electronics test technician performing detailed functional and performance testing.
EMC testing experience is a plus.
Proficient in oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and multimeters.
Skilled in interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
Basic rework skills, including soldering and mechanical adjustments.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Highly self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management skills.
