Type: Contract / Contract-to-Hire
Pay: Competitive hourly rate (OT eligible)
Schedule: Hybrid – 2 days onsite / 3 days remote | Standard business hours
Position Overview
Our client is seeking an HR Operations Coordinator to support a busy Human Resources Shared Services team. This is a high-volume, employee-facing HR support role ideal for someone with strong administrative or HR coordination experience who thrives in a fast-paced, process-driven environment.
This individual will serve as a first point of contact for employee HR inquiries, process employee lifecycle transactions, support onboarding and offboarding activities, maintain employee records in HR systems, and assist with basic leave administration.

Key Responsibilities
HR Shared Services / Employee Support
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee HR-related inquiries via phone, email, walk-ins, and ticketing systems
  • Respond to routine questions related to:
    • New hire onboarding
    • Employee job changes / status updates
    • Payroll timing / basic pay questions
    • Benefits enrollment timelines
    • Timekeeping / attendance processes
  • Escalate more complex employee relations, benefits, or policy-related questions to the appropriate internal HR teams
HR Operations / Transaction Processing
  • Process high-volume HR transactions accurately and efficiently, including:
    • New hires
    • Rehires
    • Employee changes
    • Separations / offboarding
  • Coordinate onboarding workflows and ensure completion of required pre-employment documentation
  • Maintain employee records and update HRIS systems
  • Perform data audits and validation checks to ensure accuracy and compliance
Leave Administration Support
  • Serve as first-level support for employee leave inquiries
  • Provide basic information regarding FMLA, medical leave, and paid leave programs
  • Distribute required forms and explain submission steps
  • Track leave requests and route documentation to appropriate specialists
Process Improvement / Team Support
  • Identify recurring employee questions or process gaps
  • Assist with updates to SOPs, FAQs, training materials, and workflows
  • Participate in ongoing training related to HR processes, systems, and compliance
Qualifications
Required
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1–2+ years of experience in HR support, HR coordination, shared services, administrative support, or employee-facing customer service
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive employee information
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in HR shared services, corporate HR, public sector, or unionized environments
  • Experience with HRIS platforms such as Workday, PeopleSoft, Banner, ADP, UKG, or similar
  • Exposure to leave administration / FMLA support
