Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled IV&V (Independent Verification & Validation) Test Engineer to support the development and validation of software systems within regulated, safety-critical environments. This role focuses on ensuring software quality, compliance, and performance across complex products including embedded systems, applications, and data management tools. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in verification and validation methodologies, documentation, and working within certified industries. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, developers, and leadership to deliver high-quality, compliant software solutions that support critical applications.
Key Responsibilities
Perform independent verification and validation (IV&V) activities for software systems, including embedded applications
Develop and execute test plans, protocols, and reports in compliance with industry standards
Analyze software requirements, architecture, and design to ensure testability and compliance
Utilize testing tools such as TRACE32 and VectorCAST for validation activities
Document testing results and prepare formal reports for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Support software tool validation, qualification, and Computer Software Validation (CSV) efforts
Assist in establishing and improving V&V frameworks and testing environments
Collaborate with engineering and development teams to identify defects and drive resolution
Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards in certified industries
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and best practices in software validation
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or 5+ years of equivalent experience
Experience in software V&V, preferably within embedded systems and safety-critical environments
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams
Experience preparing formal documentation for non-technical audiences
Knowledge of regulatory standards within certified or regulated industries
Proficiency in multiple programming languages (C, C++, C#, Python)
Experience with COTS testing tools such as TRACE32 and VectorCAST
Preferred Experience
Leadership experience within modern software development methodologies
Experience with design controls for regulated products
Background in software tool validation/qualification and CSV
Experience building V&V frameworks from the ground up
Familiarity with Makefiles and build processes
Experience working in fast-paced, dynamic environments
