Application Analyst
Location - Wallingford CT
Salary - 75,000 to 80,000 per year  - Possibly more for the ideal candidate 
Hybrid 4 days a week on site – optional remote day
 
Position Summary
The Application Analyst I is an early-career position responsible for supporting Senior Application Analysts in the delivery, support, and ongoing improvement of healthcare applications. This role is task-oriented and requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt quickly to changing needs, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams. The position is well-suited for individuals seeking professional growth through hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to healthcare information systems.
The following qualifications are preferred but not required:
HIGHLY PREFERRED -  Experience working in a hospital or healthcare system environment.
  1. Exposure to healthcare applications or electronic medical record systems
  2. Experience working in a hospital or healthcare system environment (e.g., Help Desk, MIS, or entry-level analyst role)
  3. Familiarity with interfaces, APIs, or basic data concepts
  4. Experience with application onboarding, system enhancements, or technical support activities
  5. Basic familiarity with tools such as Meditech, HL7, or SQL is helpful

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Provide day-to-day application support under the guidance of Senior Application Analysts
  2. Assist with troubleshooting application, workflow, or data-related issues and participate in identifying root causes
  3. Complete assigned technical and functional tasks across multiple projects simultaneously
  4. Escalate issues appropriately while remaining actively involved in resolution efforts
  5. Support application testing, validation, and documentation activities
  6. Participate as a team member on application-related projects
  7. Support project activities including meetings, task tracking, and follow-up items
  8. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability as project priorities and timelines change
  9. Identify opportunities for process, workflow, or system improvements during routine support activities
  10. Seek to understand application functionality and underlying processes rather than solely following documented steps
  11. Develop skills and knowledge through active learning and mentorship
  12. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including clinical, operational, and administrative staff
  13. Provide clear and timely updates regarding assigned tasks or issues
  14. Collaborate closely with project teams consisting of IT staff and business partners
  15. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and shift priorities as needed
  16. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  17. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
