Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Injection Mold Maintenance Technician to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot injection molds and related tooling in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role ensures optimal performance, quality, and uptime for production operations. The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical and machining skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
Principal Responsibilities
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on injection molds, tooling, and related equipment
Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble molds to ensure proper operation and longevity
Troubleshoot and diagnose mold and tooling issues to identify root causes of defects or malfunctions
Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records, including work orders and tooling logs
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve mold performance and resolve recurring issues
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements at all times
Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and extend mold/tooling life
Maintain spare parts and tooling component inventory, requesting replacements as needed
Operate manual and precision tools such as grinders, lathes, and polishing equipment when required
All other duties as assigned
Requirements & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or trade school training in tool and die, machining, or related field preferred
Minimum 2–4 years of experience in mold maintenance, toolmaking, or injection molding environment
Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to read and interpret blueprints, mold drawings, and technical manuals
Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, indicators, etc.)
Ability to operate machine shop equipment for mold repair and modification
Knowledge of plastic injection molding processes and tooling design
Strong problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and quality
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, as needed
Work Environment
This position operates within a high-volume food and beverage manufacturing facility. Work includes hands-on repair, inspection, and operation of molds and tooling. Strict adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards is required.
