Job Title: Aerospace Machinist 3RD Shift
Location: Fully Onsite in Farmington, CT 11:00PM - 7:30AM
Type: Direct Hire
Salary: $30 per hour Plus Excellent Benefits
Position Summary
The Machinist is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of EDM, CNC, and other machining equipment on a continuous basis. This role ensures production output requirements are met by identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving machining issues while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate EDM, CNC, and related equipment using established programs, fixtures, and machining methods.
- Make edits and machine adjustments as needed to produce parts according to work orders, blueprints, specifications, and sketches.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of machining feeds, speeds, cutting tools, and tool applications.
- Perform in-process and final inspections to verify dimensional accuracy and product quality.
- Produce work that meets company standards for both quality and quantity.
- Accurately complete all required documentation, including production counts, scrap, labor time, and related paperwork.
- Follow proper machining procedures and best practices at all times.
- Maintain work area, equipment, and tooling in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Complete operator maintenance sheets and perform basic equipment upkeep as required.
- Train, guide, and support other team members as needed.
- Take a proactive approach to identifying and solving process or system-related issues, collaborating with team members and other departments as necessary.
- Comply with all OSHA, health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope and skill level of the position to support departmental objectives and individual development.
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience operating EDM, CNC, CMM, or related equipment.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong listening skills and ability to follow technical instructions.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and manufacturing ERP systems, preferably JobBOSS.
