Material Control Attendant

Location: College Park, MD
Shift: Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Duration: 6 Months Temp-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $25.00/hr
Benefits: Optional cafeteria-style benefits while on contract; full benefits available upon permanent hire

Position Overview

We are actively hiring a Material Control Attendant for a manufacturing and quality-focused facility in College Park, MD. This is a detail-oriented, hands-on role supporting material movement, inventory control, and production operations. Candidates with experience in stockroom, warehousing, inventory control, or material handling within a manufacturing environment are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Perform material control functions including kiting, tracking, issuing, and relocating materials using written procedures and engineering documentation
  • Assemble production kits with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Handle shipping and receiving activities while maintaining proper documentation and inventory records
  • Conduct cycle counts and inventory audits to ensure stock accuracy and location integrity
  • Utilize SAP to verify inventory transactions, investigate discrepancies, process receipts, and support inventory management activities
  • Support production teams by expediting materials, identifying shortages, and ensuring timely material availability
  • Operate forklifts and overhead cranes safely and efficiently
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • SAP experience is required
  • Minimum of 3 years of material control, inventory, stockroom, warehouse, or logistics experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with inventory transactions, cycle counting, and material movement processes
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Strong counting, arithmetic, and inventory reconciliation skills
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings, bills of material, and manufacturing documentation is a plus
  • Forklift and material handling equipment experience preferred
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull materials weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Capable of working in an active manufacturing environment, including climbing stairs and ladders as needed

Work Environment

This position is based in a structured, quality-driven manufacturing facility where accuracy, organization, and teamwork are critical. The Material Control Attendant plays an important role in supporting production operations by ensuring materials are available, properly tracked, and accurately maintained within inventory systems.
