Position Overview
We are a growing medical device manufacturer seeking reliable, detail-oriented Mechanical Assemblers to support durable goods production on 1st shift. This role plays a critical part in assembling high-quality, life-changing medical products in a regulated manufacturing environment.
This position is ideal for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude who are comfortable working with small components, following detailed work instructions, and maintaining strict quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble mechanical components and sub-assemblies for durable medical devices per approved work instructions and drawings
Perform repetitive and precision assembly of plastic and metal components
Utilize hand tools and assembly equipment including torque drivers, presses, fixtures, tweezers, and magnifiers
Read and follow Bills of Materials (BOMs), work orders, assembly drawings, and process documentation
Conduct in-process inspections to ensure assemblies meet quality and specification requirements
Accurately document work performed, inspection results, and production data
Identify and report quality issues, defects, or equipment concerns to supervisors or engineers
Support kitting, material handling, and workstation setup as required
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with 5S and safety standards
Follow all ISO, QSR, FDA, and company manufacturing policies and procedures
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of hands-on mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience assembling small parts with close tolerances
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
Ability to remain in a stationary position for up to 50% of the shift
Comfortable using computers for documentation and production tracking
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
Must be able to read, write, and speak English
Preferred Experience
Medical device or regulated manufacturing environment
Familiarity with ISO, FDA, GMP, or QSR standards
Experience with Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices
