Position Purpose
The Mechanical / Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling mechanical components and subassemblies according to drawings, work instructions, and quality standards. This role supports production by ensuring assemblies are built accurately and efficiently in a manufacturing environment.
Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Perform mechanical assembly of components and subassemblies using hand and power tools
Follow assembly drawings, work instructions, and job travelers
Verify parts, hardware, and materials prior to assembly
Perform basic inspections to ensure assemblies meet quality standards
Identify and report assembly issues, defects, or missing components
Perform rework or adjustments as required
Maintain accurate documentation of work performed
Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals
Maintain clean, organized, and safe workstations
Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
1–3 years of mechanical or assembly experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Ability to read basic drawings or assembly instructions
Experience using hand tools and basic power tools
Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting
