Job Description: Optics Cleaning Technician
Location: North Andover, MA (Lab Environment)
Job Type: 6 months Temp-to-Hire
Full-Time | 40 hours/week -Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible start time available)
Compensation: $23–$26/hour, based on experience and demonstrated ability
Position Overview
We are seeking two Optics Cleaning Technicians for immediate openings supporting a long-term medical device program. This role is critical to the preparation and cleaning of precision micro-optics prior to coating operations.
Technicians will work in a controlled laboratory environment, performing detailed inspection and cleaning under a microscope. This program supports a medical project expected to run 10–15 years, offering strong stability and a clear path to temp-to-hire conversion.
Key Responsibilities
Clean and prep micro-optics prior to coating using approved lab procedures
Inspect optical components under a microscope to identify defects or particulates
Clean optics under a HEPA hood using soap and water
Perform solvent cleaning using IPA, methanol, acetone, and cotton swabs
Set up fixtures to properly hold optical components
Load and unload optics into coating fixtures
Operate ultrasonic cleaning equipment
Package optics according to quality and handling standards
Maintain a clean, organized lab workspace
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Lab Manager
Qualifications
This is a precision-focused role requiring strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently while meeting production schedules.
Ideal Qualifications:
Experience using microscopes and basic measuring tools
Strong fine motor skills and manual dexterity
Good eyesight and attention to detail
Ability to sit for extended periods while performing detailed work
Comfortable working in a lab or cleanroom-style environment
Strong communication skills
Ability to switch between tasks as production needs change
