Job Title: Press Room Operator – 1st Shift
Location: Shelton, CT
Pay: $18.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable Press Room Operator to join our manufacturing team in Shelton, CT. This position is responsible for operating mechanical stamping presses and supporting equipment used to produce precision metal components. The ideal candidate has previous manufacturing or press operation experience, preferably in a metal stamping environment, and enjoys working in a fast-paced production setting.
Responsibilities
- Operate mechanical stamping presses safely and efficiently.
- Load raw materials and monitor production to ensure quality standards are met.
- Perform visual inspections and basic dimensional checks using measuring tools.
- Complete production paperwork and maintain accurate records.
- Report equipment issues and production concerns to supervisors.
- Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
- Assist with material handling, machine setups, and other production duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing, machine operator, or press operator experience required.
- Metal stamping or press room experience preferred.
- Experience with OBI, straight-side, or punch presses is a plus.
- Ability to read work instructions and follow production procedures.
- Comfortable using hand tools and basic measuring instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
- Ability to stand for an entire shift and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.

- Metal stamping operations
- Progressive die or coil-fed stamping
- OBI and straight-side presses
