Production Supervisor

• Duration: Direct Hire
• Location: Arch Stree Long Island City, NY.
• Salary: $70K–$82K (depending on experience)
• Shift: 1st Shift 7am -4pm.

We are currently seeking a Production Supervisor in Long Island City, NY.
Position Summary and Special Duties:
As a Production Supervisor, your day-to-day duties will consist of, but may not be limited to:
Job Details:
• Directly supervise shop production employees and provide clear instructions on work procedures.
• Assign work, monitor performance, and ensure production goals and schedules are met.
• Coordinate manpower, materials, and workflow to maintain efficiency and accuracy.
• Ensure proper maintenance and use of tools and equipment.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop environment.
• Develop and support team members through training, coaching, and performance management.
• Handle employee relations, including discipline and conflict resolution, in alignment with company policies.
• Review and approve employee schedules and time reporting.
Production & Technical Responsibilities:
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshoot production issues on the floor.
• Ensure proper execution of manufacturing processes and work instructions.
• Monitor workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Ensure materials are available and properly handled to minimize waste and defects.
• Maintain production schedules and adjust resources as needed to meet deadlines.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Communicate production progress and issues to management.
• Train employees on procedures, safety standards, and equipment usage.
• Enforce all safety policies, including Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Complete all required production documentation and system entries (SAP or similar).
• Promote strong housekeeping standards across all work areas.
• Ensure all work meets company quality standards and specifications.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• 1–3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and production processes.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve production-related issues.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
• Proficient with hand and power tools.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficient in both English and Metric measurement systems.
• Strong computer skills and ability to multitask.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders and lift, push, or pull up to 40 lbs.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Work Environment:
The work environment involves working in an active manufacturing facility with exposure to shop floor conditions. Strict adherence to safety protocols and quality standards is required.
