Job Title: Internal Auditor
Location: Flushing, NY (Onsite)

Annual Salary: $75,798 Total Compensation
(Base Salary: $70,000 + FICA Reimbursement: $5,798 annually)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Internal Auditor to join a well-established organization. This role reports to the Manager of Internal Audit and works closely with internal and external stakeholders. The position focuses on auditing benefit-related funds, analyzing financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. This role includes both office-based work and field audits across the Tri-State area.
Duties
- Conduct audits on various benefit funds
- Examine books, ledgers, and financial records maintained by contractors
- Analyze data and develop audit findings and reports
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation
- Work directly with contractors throughout the audit process
- Participate in hearings and provide testimony related to audit findings as needed
- Perform both in-office and field audit work across multiple locations
Work Environment
This position operates in both a professional office setting and contractor field environments.
- Office: Standard equipment including computers, printers, scanners, and phones
- Field: Walking, standing, reaching, and interacting with contractors on-site
- Must be comfortable handling documents/files and traveling to multiple job sites
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
Full-time, onsite position (no remote option)
Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Flexibility required based on audit schedules
Travel
Up to 50% travel required
Must be able to travel throughout the Tri-State area
Required Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Minimum of 2 years of auditing experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and audit standards
- Knowledge of GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and interact with internal and external stakeholders
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (testing required)
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
