SMT Operator I – 2nd Shift

Pay: $21.00–$23.00/hour (based on experience)

Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM

We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented SMT Operators to join a growing electronics manufacturing team in Seymour, CT. This position is responsible for operating Surface Mount Technology (SMT) equipment used in the assembly of printed circuit boards and electronic products within a high-mix manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will have manufacturing experience, strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented production setting.
Responsibilities:
- Operate SMT production equipment including screen printers, solder paste inspection systems, pick-and-place machines, and reflow ovens
- Load and unload materials and components into production equipment
- Monitor machine performance and production output
- Perform visual inspections to verify product quality and identify defects
- Follow work instructions, production schedules, and quality procedures
- Troubleshoot minor production and equipment issues and escalate concerns when necessary
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Adhere to all company safety, quality, ESD, and manufacturing procedures
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure production goals are met
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 0–3 years of manufacturing experience preferred
- SMT or electronics manufacturing experience is a plus
- Demonstrated reliability and strong attendance record
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Willingness to learn new skills and processes
- Ability to work 2nd shift on a consistent basis
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience operating SMT equipment
- Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) experience
- Familiarity with electronic components and printed circuit board assembly
- IPC-A-610 certification or related electronics manufacturing training
Compensation:
- $21.00–$23.00/hour based on experience
- Contract-to-hire opportunity
- Employees who successfully transition to permanent employment may become eligible for an additional $2.00/hour shift differential in accordance with company policy
