Position Overview
Our client is seeking a driven and personable Sales Representative to join the team in Shelton, CT. This is an inside sales role focused on building strong customer relationships, supporting a growing manufacturing and fabrication business, and driving profitable growth. The ideal candidate will bring recent sales experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to leverage AI-driven tools to enhance efficiency. Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive outreach and account management.
Support sales growth in manufacturing, machining, and fabrication business segments.
Learn to read blueprints and apply product knowledge to customer solutions (a plus but not required).
Leverage AI tools (ChatGPT and similar platforms) to improve workflows and client engagement.
Collaborate with the President and leadership team to align sales strategy with company goals.
Manage sales activity, reporting, and follow-up with accuracy and attention to detail.
Participate in onboarding and continuous training to learn Modern Plastics’ products, services, and value proposition.
Qualifications & Skills
Recent sales experience required (inside sales or account management preferred).
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly.
Organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
AI literacy – open and willing to use modern tools to support sales activity.
Manufacturing background helpful; blueprint reading skills a bonus.
Must live within a 45-minute commute of Shelton, CT.
Self-motivated, professional, and driven by results.

Education & Experience

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
