Senior Accountant
Salary 85,000 to 90,000 – bonus eligible
Location - Waterbury CT area – The Valley area of CT
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. As a Senior Accountant, you will manage financial records, prepare financial reports, and ensure compliance with accounting regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, and most importantly, excellent analytical skills, along with a solid understanding of accounting principles.
To perform this job successfully, the Senior Accountant must satisfactorily perform each item listed under Essential Duties and Responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Utilize Microsoft Dynamics software to record and track financial transactions.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.
- Conduct technical accounting research to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial analysis and support for decision-making processes.
- Assist with the implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
- Proven experience working as an Accountant or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of debits and credits and accrual accounting principles.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, strong emphasis on Excel experience, and the ability to quickly and accurately manipulate and update data.
- Proficiency in using accounting software such Microsoft Dynamics, Acumatica, NetSuite, and Microsoft Business Central.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and reporting requirements.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
