Job Title: Team Lead – Manufacturing Technician
Location: Manchester, NH
Pay Rate: $24–$28/hr (based on experience)
Type: 6 months (Contract Temp to Perm)
Shift: 3rd Shift – 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Team Lead Manufacturing Technician to support and guide production operations within a regulated medical device manufacturing environment. This role is both hands-on and leadership-focused, requiring strong technical ability in assembly, testing, and documentation of mechanical and electrical assemblies, along with the capability to help monitor production flow, quality, and team performance.
The Team Lead will be fully knowledgeable in line processes and procedures, assist in overseeing daily production activities, and act as a key liaison between technicians and management. This position plays a critical role in ensuring efficiency, quality, safety, and compliance while setting the standard for professionalism and performance on the line.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead by example in daily production activities, reinforcing quality, productivity, and safety standards
  • Perform hands-on assembly and testing of mechanical and electrical assemblies per approved procedures
  • Assist in monitoring production staff to ensure adherence to ethics, safety procedures, and work instructions
  • Train, mentor, and support technicians on assembly processes, documentation, and cleanroom practices
  • Assemble plastic and metal components using small hand tools, presses, fixtures, calibrated instruments, microscopes, and test fixtures
  • Follow Bills of Materials, work orders, check sheets, flow charts, and assembly drawings to build product and accurately document results
  • Perform soldering, crimping, ultrasonic welding, bonding, gluing, and other assembly techniques as required
  • Inspect assemblies and finished products throughout the process to ensure quality and compliance with industry and regulatory standards
  • Assist with startup, in-process, and end-of-day equipment inspections and verifications
  • Support evaluation of manufacturing equipment for safety, functionality, and performance
  • Help maintain production metrics and records related to line performance and output
  • Act as a communication bridge between technicians and management to support workflow, issue resolution, and scheduling
  • Support adherence to production schedules and ensure availability of materials needed to meet demand
  • Maintain cleanroom integrity by following gowning, cleanliness, and environmental control procedures
  • Participate in safety programs, meetings, and trainings; proactively report safety concerns
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and 5S initiatives as part of a cross-functional team
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, manufacturing procedures, ISO, QSR, FDA, and other regulatory requirements
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior team lead, mentoring, or informal leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Proven experience with assembly, testing, and documentation of mechanical and electrical devices
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, regulated environment
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Medical device manufacturing experience
  • Familiarity with ISO, QSR, FDA regulations, GMP, or Lean manufacturing principles
  • Cleanroom manufacturing experience
