Tool Maker/ Mold Maker

Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Mold Maker to support the construction, assembly, fitting, and troubleshooting of injection molds in a plastics manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for building and repairing precision tooling while operating a variety of manual machining and grinding equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, assemble, fit, and troubleshoot injection molds
- Manufacture mold components to tight tolerances and print specifications
- Operate manual machining/toolroom equipment including:
- Surface grinders
- Bridgeports/manual mills
- Manual lathes
- Jig grinders
- OD grinders
- Related toolroom equipment
- Inspect completed work to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality standards
- Interpret blueprints, CAD models, and technical drawings
- Follow written and verbal work instructions
- Support continuous improvement of mold manufacturing/tooling processes
- Perform additional toolroom and mold maintenance duties as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of mold making / tool building experience
- Strong practical machining and tool build process knowledge
- Ability to hold extremely tight tolerances (±0.0001")
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, models, and technical drawings
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods
- Frequent reaching, grabbing, pushing/pulling, and lifting
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs when needed
