Position Summary and Special Duties
As a Wire EDM Specialist, you will play a critical role in programming, setting up, and operating wire EDM machines to produce high-precision components. This role requires strong technical ability, experience with solid models, and the capability to inspect your own work to extremely tight tolerances.
Your day-to-day duties will include, but may not be limited to:
Program, set up, and run wire EDM machines
Write programs using both 2D drawings and solid part models
Utilize Esprit software (or equivalent) for programming complex parts
Hold tolerances to ±0.0002" while inspecting your own completed work
Perform dimensional inspections using standard precision tools
Maintain EDM equipment, perform changeovers, and complete general maintenance tasks
Troubleshoot machine or process issues as they arise
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Collaborate with engineering, tooling, and quality teams to ensure precision and consistency
Job Specifications
Strong experience setting up, programming, and operating wire EDM machines
Experience with AgieCharmilles equipment is a plus
Proficiency programming from solid models (Esprit experience preferred)
Ability to inspect own work to extremely tight tolerances (±0.0002")
Solid working knowledge of EDM processes and best practices
Ability to interpret drawings, part models, and precise specifications
Mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently with accuracy and attention to detail
